Description
The study program “Bachelor of Science in Geoscience” challenges students to think holistically about subjects ranging from water quality to landscape evolution, from the evolution of the biosphere to climate change, as well as from contaminated land to sustainability. Participants will develop a number of skills, including the ability to gather and evaluate data, assess geo-environmental issues from a scientific standpoint, prepare written reports, lead discussion groups, and use computational methods. The Bachelor's degree program lays the foundations for a postgraduate academic study program, i.e. a Master's degree or doctoral program in Geoscience, covering such areas as Mineralogy, Geology and Soil Science. Graduates will be qualified for professional activities in nature conservation and environmental offices, in federal and state authorities, as well as in engineering and environmental companies. Further fields of work include planning and assessment of construction projects, environmental impact assessments and coastal management.
