University of Hamburg is offering the Bachelor of Arts degree program in “Historical Musicology’’. This course of study is with a duration of six semesters and is geared towards prospective students who want to become qualified musicologists. Throughout the program, participants will learn how to perceive music from an aesthetic point of view. Furthermore, a strong focus is also placed on the music history from late antiquity to the present. The course is divided in four phases during which students will deal with introductory, advanced and elective modules related to older and modern music. Graduates can either continue with a Master’s degree or seek professional development in conservatories, opera houses, theatres, record companies, and others.
