The study program “Master of Arts in History” at the University of Hamburg aims to provide participants with research skills and to deepen their understanding of key debates and methods in historiography. This degree program combines training in research skills and historiography with a range of options, from antiquity to the late 20th century. Moreover, it will deepen the skills needed to analyзe data and documentation and develop individual skills of writing, oral participation and presentation. In addition to the future academic career in research or teaching, after successfully graduating the degree program, students also find success in professional careers, including international relations, pharmaceuticals, health care or media. Graduates can also take on jobs in the fields of social work, journalism, archives management, as well as in education. This degree program also provides students the knowledge and qualifications needed to advance to a doctoral program.
