Description
The degree program “Master of Arts in Human Rights and Democratization” at the University of Hamburg offers students the opportunity to engage first-hand with regional and international human rights as well as democratization issues. The program is an intensive one-year advanced master's course offering and an outstanding mix of theory and practice and preparing students for careers in international organizations, field operations, governmental and non-governmental bodies and academia. Upon completion of the degree program, students are expected to gain both academic and practical skills: on the one hand, the ability to conduct independent and interdisciplinary academic research in relation to human rights and democratiзation issues; on the other hand, skills which are relevant to human rights practitioners such as reporting, fact-finding, and monitoring. Graduates of the program are not only qualified for positions in universities or other research institutions and organizations, but can also pursue a career in both national and international governmental as well as non-governmental organizations.
