The degree program “Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics” is designed as a joint degree by both University of Hamburg and Technical University of Hamburg to provide the country and region with high-level manpower in computational planning, management and research in a broad range of industrial and engineering areas. The course of studies is aimed at developing multidisciplinary students who have up-to-date knowledge in their fields, but who also understand the linkage between Mathematics, industry and business. The Master's degree program aims to train students to become professional Industrial Mathematicians, who are able to apply and develop mathematical models and have the computational skills to solve industrial and engineering problems. Industrial mathematicians apply formulas, statistical models and other mathematical tools to serve the needs of businesses.  Graduates find that their skills in quantitative reasoning are in demand in many careers and are needed for many different positions. After successfully graduating from the Master's degree program, students will be prepared to take on jobs in the fields of information technology, data processing as well as automobile production. Building a career in biotechnology or even in the industrial research are also among the options for the graduates of the degree program.
