University of Hamburg offers the eight-semester study program in “Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies with a Focus on Islamic Studies’’. This course of study provides students with basic knowledge of the history, culture, religions, and languages of the Middle Eastern region. Furthermore, the degree content covers three main areas, namely Iranian Studies, Islamic Studies, and Turkic Studies. Such approach allows students to develop the ability to analyze complex relationships in terms of history and culture and apply their findings to understand current events. The program also involves a semester abroad in the focused region.
