“Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies with a Focus on Islamic Studies’’ is an eight-semester degree program offered at University of Hamburg. This is an international study course geared towards prospective students who want to acquire basic knowledge of the cultures, politics, religions, history, and languages of the Middle Eastern and North African region. The curriculum for this discipline is divided into three main areas, namely Islamic Studies, Iranian Studies, and Turkic Studies. Participants will also have to acquire good language skills in Persian, Arabic or Turkish, as well as basic knowledge of two other languages. Furthermore, students will have to spend one semester abroad in the focused region.
