The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Political Science” at the University of Hamburg is designed for students to learn how to deal with the importance of the political decisions for society. The course offers a broad orientation in International Relations, Political Economy, Public Policy and Governance, Comparative Politics and Political Theory. The course itself consists of four major fields of study: governance in political multi-level systems, governance in inter- and transnational institutions, political theories and history of ideas, as well as empirical methods of social research. Although it is a Bachelor's degree course, the program “Bachelor in Political Science” does not include a particular minor subject. After successfully completing the course, students will have the chance to build careers in policy-related areas at ministries of the federal state governments. Other career prospects are positions in the fields of Public Relations and Marketing, as well as Management.
