University of Hamburg offers the Master of Arts degree program “Prehistoric and Early Historic Archaeology’’. Throughout the course of four semesters, students will acquire in-depth knowledge in prehistoric and early historic archaeology. What is more, the course also explores archaeology of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period. The degree content consists of compulsory and compulsory elective modules. Prehistory, Early History and Middle Ages, Theory and Findings, and Methodology and Natural Sciences are the four profiles that students can choose from as elective modules. In addition to the theoretical part of the course, participants will also engage in a lot of practical work with excursions, internships, tutorial guidance and project work.
