Description
“Master of Arts in Sign Language Interpreting” is a part-time six-semester study program offered at University of Hamburg. This course of study is aimed towards students who want to acquire training in sign language that can be used in court and conference interpreting. Throughout the program participants will acquire the necessary working techniques, as well as the linguistic characteristics of the language used in court. Some of the courses featured in the curriculum include Interpreting in Criminal Proceedings, Conference Interpreting in International Contexts, Interpreting in Civil Proceedings, and others. Furthermore, students will be able to choose their own focus by selecting from several elective modules. Graduates can pursue career prospects as court and conference interpreters.
