Description


The four-semester degree program ‘’Master of Arts in Sign Languages’’ is offered at University of Hamburg. It is designed towards students who wish to acquired advanced knowledge of the German sign language and learn how to deal with cultural-scientific issues that deaf people might experience nowadays. In addition, participants will be also trained how to use and apply empirical methods and to critically assess theoretical concepts.  Some of the courses featured in the curriculum are Sign Languages Structure Course, Evolution of Communication and Origin of Language, Sign Language Communities, and others. Graduates can pursue career opportunities in different occupation fields such as politics and administration, journalism, education, public relations, schools, social institutions, and more.
