Description


The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Slavic Studies” at the University of Hamburg is designed to provide students with the fundamental scientific knowledge of Slavic languages, literature and culture. The main focus of the course is on Polish, Russian, Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian (BKS), and Czech. The course teaches students theories and methods as well as how to independently process different scientific problems. Participants are taught basic techniques of work and research. Students have to choose one language as a main one and another one as a supplementary language.  Participants will have the option to specialize in one of two subjects available, namely “Linguistics” or “Literature Studies”. After successfully graduating from the Bachelor's program, participants will be qualified for taking part in a Master's degree program as a next step of their academic future at home or abroad. Graduates will have access to many occupational fields, including Education and Counseling, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Event Marketing, Translation and many others.
