Description
The international degree program “Master of Arts in Social and Cultural Anthropology” at the University of Hamburg teaches students to apply anthropology to the challenges facing in the current globalizing world. The course endows students with in-depth training in social-cultural anthropology and the skills associated with it such as ethnography, the use of qualitative and quantitative data in social science. Participants will gain in-depth insights into a variety of topics, ranging from Islam in Europe, to politics and power, to urban anthropology and anthropology of crises, to migration, development and globalization. Graduates of this program have gone into fields, including analytics within the aerospace industry and recruitment for a national charity. Apart from pursuing a career in translation or interpreting, students can find jobs in the fields of culture management, publishing as well as tourism or media.
