The study program “Bachelor of Science in Software Systems Development” offered at the University of Hamburg deals with issues related to the development, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software systems. The six-semester course of studies teaches participants to design and program software while educating them in communication and business as well. This combination of disciplines provides students with the qualifications for developing and designing IT solutions, as well as bringing consultation for businesses and organizations on a given solution. The course combines theoretical foundations with project experience and application relevance. The innovative teaching methods, that are combined with 48 hours of software development internship in an IT company, properly prepares participants for their career path. Graduates will be qualified to participate in a corresponding Master's degree program or to directly start their careers in the field of software engineering, web design as well as software architecture, which is among the newest professional fields in the last few years.
