Description
The six-semester study program in “Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Studies’’ is provided by the University of Jena. Its main objective is to impart scientific knowledge related to the Arab language, history and culture. A great emphasis is place on modern High Arabic along with Classical Arabic. What is more, the curriculum explores these aspects from pre-Islamic times to present days. Such approach enables students to develop basic linguistic knowledge as well as reading skills in both modern variants of the language. The degree content features modules such as Linguistic and Cultural – Historical Foundations of Arabic Studies, Arabic Regional Studies, Basics of Islam, and others.
