University of Jena is offering the degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Studies” with a duration of six semesters. It is designed to teach students the language, history and culture of the Arab region from pre-Islamic times to now days. By entering in the course, they have the chance to explore different lectures like Fundamentals of Islam, Modern Reading, Classical Reading, Arabic Regional Studies, Islamism. At the end of their studies, participants are able to read and understand modern and classical Arabic texts. Successful completion of “Arabic Studies” leads to professional career in media, museums, libraries, politics and tourism.
