“Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics” is a six-semester study course offered by University of Jena. It provides in-depth theoretical knowledge in both computer and life sciences. Students entering this program are able to solve complex problems using computer-based methods, and understand how to analyze genetic material of a living organism. Content of study includes the lectures Introduction Bioinformatics, Structured Programming, Proseminar Bioinformatics, Introduction to Genetics, Computability & Complexity, where participants will also improve their programming skills. Graduates of “Bioinformatics” have wide range of career opportunities in software development, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and much more.
