University of Jena offers the ten-semester state examination program “Chemistry’’. The course of study is geared towards students who aspire to be chemistry teachers at secondary schools (Gymnasium). Participants will gain the necessary qualifications in order to conduct successful experimental lessons and make students engage with the learning process. The degree content is designed to provide fundamental scientific as well as didactic knowledge in the different areas of chemistry. Some of the examples of the latter include Technical Chemistry, History of Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and others.
