University of Jena is offering the state examination study program “Geography’’. Throughout the course of ten semesters, students will acquire the necessary competencies to become geography teachers at grammar schools (Gymnasium). Participants will explore geography and the fields it deals with, namely natural science and social and economic science issues. With this approach, students learn about the structure and dynamics of physical environment along with its relationship to humans. Furthermore, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on didactics and teaches students how to plan and conduct learning processes in a classroom ambience.
