The nine-semester state examination program “Geography’’ is offered at the University of Jena. Characterized by its application-oriented nature, this course aims to impart knowledge in skills in practicing a teaching profession in regular schools (Regelschule). The curriculum is designed in such a way that explore geography through natural science and socio-economic science issues. Thus, students have the opportunity to better understand the structure and dynamics of Earth as well as the relationship between humans and the environment. The study plan comprises of modules such as Introduction to Human Geography, Cartography, Globalization, Introduction to Soil Science, Social Empiricism for Teachers, and others.
