“German’’ is an extension exam program provided by the University of Jena. This part-time study course is with a length of six semesters. Its main objective is to impart in-depth knowledge of the processes of linguistic interaction and aesthetic and cultural communication. To make this possible, the curriculum integrates three sub- subjects, namely German Linguistics, German Literature as well as subject didactics German. Students learn about the history of German Literature by exploring its evolution throughout the epochs and the different genres and authors. In addition, participants will build the skills to plan, implement and evaluate lessons. The career prospects for graduates are very favorable as they can pursue employment in regular schools (Regelschule).
