“Bachelor of Arts in Indo-European Studies” is a six-semester study course offered by the University of Jena. Students entering the program will acquire solid knowledge of the development and interrelationships of the Indo-European languages. In addition, they will also learn new methods of general and historical-comparative linguistics, and how to use them in practice. Study plan includes theoretical subjects, as well as practical exercises. Some of the main lectures are Introduction to Linguistics, Methods and Applications of Philology and Classics, Greek Linguistics, Latin Linguistics. Successful completion of “Indo-European Studies” leads to professional career in media, adult education, public relations and cultural tourism.
