Description
The state examination program “Latin’’ is offered at the University of Jena. Throughout the course of ten semesters, students will explore the legacy left by the Roman Empire and mostly the works of Roman authors. The degree content places a strong emphasis on language and literature by studying their preconditions and aftermath. In addition, students will also acquire key skills that will enable them to identify and deal with specific issues related to Latin language and literature and develop the right solutions for them. Graduates will be qualified to work as teachers in grammar schools (Gymnasium).
