University of Jena is offering the teaching degree “Latin” with a duration of seven semesters. Students entering this program will become familiar with topics like Roman history, art, philosophy, religious and cultural history. By attending different theoretical lectures such as Medieval and Modern Latin, Greek, Ancient History, Classical Archaeology, History, Philosophy, participants will learn how to deal with problems of Latin language and literature, as well as to design new solutions. They have the chance to also participate in practical exercises, where will deepen their knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of “Latin” graduates are qualified for teaching positions.
