University of Jena is offering the study program “Bachelor of Arts in Middle and New Latin” with a duration of six semesters. The aim is to teach students how to read, understand and edit the Latin manuscripts of the Middle Ages. They will attend lectures and seminars, where will learn more about the literature and cultural history of the Middle Ages to present days. Content of study includes Introduction to Latin Philology, Medieval Latin and Neo-Latin, Metrics or History of Language, Literature & Language. Graduates of “Middle and New Latin” have wide range of career opportunities, for example in archives, libraries, museums, universities and others.
