University of Jena offers the state examination course “Russian’’. Throughout the course of ten semesters, students will deal with the Russian language and Russian culture. They will acquire a secure command of spoken and written Russian along with knowledge of regional studies and history of the country. In addition, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on subject didactics in order to provide the necessary competencies for practicing the teacher profession in grammar schools (Gymnasium). Students can choose to participate in an exchange program that allows them to travel to Russia and study in one of the partner universities of University of Jena.
