“Social Studies’’ is a part-time extension exam program provided by the University of Jena. Over the course of six semesters, students will be introduced to a combination of political science, sociology and economics. With this approach, they will get the chance to acquire broad economic and sociological knowledge and understand their relationship. What is more, a strong focus is placed on didactics of politics that will help participants build solid skills in teaching this subject at regular schools (Regelschule). In addition, the curriculum covers other topics related to political science such as the German political system, international relations and foreign policy, political theory, and more.
