University of Jena provides the state examination course “Social Studies’’. With a length of nine semesters, this program is ideal for students who aspire to be teachers in regular schools (Regelschule). By enrolling in this course, participants will acquire competencies in economics and sociology. They will explore various topics related to both disciplines such as history of ideas, political theory, domestic politics and the German political system, and more. In addition, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on didactics that will enable students to scientifically evaluate, discuss and convey in classrooms various theoretical problems related to politics.
