University of Jena offers the six-semester study program “Bachelor of Arts in Southeast European Studies’’. Designed for prospective students, this course imparts in-depth knowledge in many aspects related to the ethnic groups living in Southeastern Europe. Here, participants will become familiar with the linguistic, cultural and social interrelationships of the people in this region both in the past and in present days. The core disciplines featured in this study plan include South Slavic Studies, East European History as well as Romanian Studies. Graduates can continue with a Master’s degree or pursue a wide range of possible career opportunities in radio, television, print media, international organizations, social affairs, and other similar fields.
