The ten-semester state examination course in “Sports’’ is offered at the University of Jena. Characterized by its interdisciplinary nature, this program explores several disciplines, namely humanities and social science along with sports science and sport practice. What is more, this course is meant to prepare students for the challenging profession of a sports teacher particularly in grammar schools (Gymnasium). This is why a strong emphasis is placed on the subject didactics and methodology of school-relevant sports. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, participants will also further improve the breadth of their motor skills and abilities, especially in the first semester of the program.
