University of Jena is offering the state examination program “Sports’’. It is designed for students who aspire to be sports teachers at regular schools (Regelschule). Over the course of nine semester, participants will acquire competencies in several disciplines, namely humanities and social science as well as sports practice and sports science. Since this is a teacher training program, a strong emphasis is place on the didactics and methodology of school-relevant sports. Thus, students will not only improve their motor skills and overall athletics performance but will also learn how to structure sports lessons and encourage adolescents to participate in the learning process and activities.
