University of Klagenfurt, founded in 1970, is a public university seated in Klagenfurt, Kärnten. It operates further study centers in Vienna, and Graz. With more than 11.500 students, it is Kärnten’s largest educational institution. The University breaks down into four faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Management and Economics, the Faculty of Interdiscilinary Studies, and the Faculty of Technical Sciences. Prospective students are offered 18 Bachelor degree programs, 25 Master degree programs, ten teacher training courses, and four doctoral programs. Leading to a Bachelor’s degree are, among others, the degree programs “German Studies“, “History“, “Information Management“, “Information Technology“ (branches of study: Engineering, Industrial Engineering), “Media and Communications Science“, “Romance Studies“, “Slavonic Studies“, “Technical Mathematics“, and “Business and Law“. The scope of Master studies includes, among others, the study programs “Applied Business Administration“ (branches of study: Energy and Environmental Management, Entrepreneurship, General Management), “Applied Informatics“, “Applied Cultural Studies“, “English and American Studies“, “Adult and Vocational Education“, as well as “Information and Communications Engineering“ (branches of study: Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Networks and Communications, Industrial Engineering). Added to this is the double diploma Magister program “German Studies in the Intercultural Context“ which is offered in partnership with the Italian university. The range of doctoral degree programs comprises the following programs: “Doctorate in Natural Science“, “Doctorate in Philosophy“, “Doctorate in Social Sciences and Economics“, as well as “Doctorate in Technical Sciences“. The University of Klagenfurt’s educational portfolio is rounded off by a number of university courses.
