Description
Human Geography, also known as anthropogeography, is a subfield of Geography that focuses on the relationship between people and the Earth. It studies how humans interact with the surface of the earth and how their activity is influenced by natural processes. Human Geography also examines how societies develop and how cultures, politics and economies are formed in different environments. Some of the topics concerning Human Geography are spatial distribution, human interaction with the environment and different economic and governmental structures. The most common subjects taught in Human Geography programs include Geopolitics, Strategic Spatial Planning, Environmental Management and Climate Change, Social and Cultural Geography, Urban Geography, Tourism Geographies, City & Society, Global Geographies, Geography in the Contemporary World and more. A degree course in Human Geography provides students not only with thorough theoretical knowledge, but also with opportunities for internships and practical projects where they can develop strategic planning, map preparation and interpretation, critical assessment, analytical thinking, problem solving and logical thinking skills. Human Geography graduates can enjoy a number of career opportunities in sectors like housing, tourism, environmental protection, cartography, climatology, geospatial intelligence and others.
