Description


With a duration of three years (full-time) or five years (part-time), the continuing education course “Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy” is provided by University of Koblenz and Landau. The course leads to the license to practice medicine as a child and adolescent psychotherapist in the field of behavioral therapy. Aimed at psychologists and educators with a master's degree, the course is based on the Psychotherapists Act and the training and examination regulations for child and adolescent psychotherapists. As part of the training, theoretical courses and practical training components convey in-depth knowledge of mental illnesses in children and adolescents, diagnostic procedures and behavioral interventions in both practical and research-oriented manner. After completing the course, graduates will be able to work as child and adolescent psychotherapists in a child and adolescent psychiatric clinic, in an educational counseling center or an early intervention center and more.
