The “Bachelor of Arts in African Studies” is a 6-semester program conducted in German and English. It is also offered as a part-time study, suitable for applicants who wish to further their competencies and continue their professional activities. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses with a focus on various humanities, cultural, and social science aspects of Africa. Additionally, participants can tailor their studies to their interests and choose elective modules. The BA provides students with the opportunity to carry out a semester abroad and broaden their perspectives. Alongside the extensive theoretical training, participants will also acquire hands-on experience and key competencies. Graduates are qualified for work in cultural institutions, museums, tourism, archives and documentation centres, NGOs, diplomatic service, etc. They can also opt for a consecutive Master’s degree.
