The “Master of Arts in Arabic and Islamic Studies” is a German-taught program with a duration of 4 semesters. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Leipzig. The course is also available as a part-time study, suitable for individuals who wish to combine working and learning at the same time. Throughout their education, students will dive deep into the History and Culture of the Islamic World, Arabic Language and Translation Studies, and Islamic Law. Additionally, they can take up elective modules and personalise their studies. The MA offers students various case studies and application-oriented seminars that aim to provides them with hands-on experience and professional core competencies. Graduates are qualified to pursue a career in Diplomacy, Policy advice, Development cooperation, Crisis and Conflict Prevention, Journalism, Cultural Institutions, and more. The MA is an excellent foundation for a further doctoral degree.
