The Master’s degree “Master of Science in Economic and Social Geography with a Focus on Urban Areas“ is a German-taught program with a duration of 4 semesters. It is also offered as a part-time study, allowing applicants to work and learn simultaneously. The curriculum includes interdisciplinary courses in Urban Areas: Theories and Current Research Fields, Special Methods in Regional Research, Big Excursion, Geodata Analysis, and more. Additionally, participants can choose from various elective modules in order to diversify their studies. The MSc is research-oriented and provides students with the social, methodological, and analytical skills needed to carry out scientific work independently. Furthermore, the program promotes the development of soft skills required for a successful career. Upon completion of the program, graduates are qualified to assume leadership positions in state, regional and urban planning, city and village renewal, economic development, regional management, tourism, marketing, etc.
