The “Master of Arts in Ethnology” is an English-taught program with a duration of 4 semesters. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Leipzig. The course is offered as a part-time study. The aim of the program is to deepen the knowledge of students and introduce them to more complex matters. The curriculum includes interdisciplinary courses in Current Debates in Ethnology, Research Methods, Culture and Technology, and Ethnology and Communication. Participants can also take up elective modules and diversify their education. Throughout their education, students will acquire hands-on experience, key competencies, and soft skills. Furthermore, the MA is research-oriented and provides students with the social, methodological, and analytical skills needed to successfully carry out projects independently. Graduates are qualified to pursue leadership positions in the fields of Research, Adult Education and Intercultural Education, Cultural Mediation and Promotion, Advice and Integration Assistance, Journalism and Media, and more.
