Description
The state examination program “Medicine“ offered at the University of Leipzig is German-taught and lasts a bit over 6 years. The program is divided into two pre-clinical and clinical studies. The pre-clinical course includes modules in Medical Terminology, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, and more. Students will have the opportunity to further their competencies by undertaking elective modules. In the clinical course, participants will focus on more complex matters and dive into practice work. Furthermore, the program is research-oriented and provides students with the social, methodological, and analytical skills needed to carry out scientific work independently. The last year is entirely practice-oriented and prepares participants for the challenging working environment of the profession. Upon completion of the program, graduates are qualified to become doctors in the specialist areas of a hospital or in their own practice. They can also work in health authorities, medical and rescue services, the pharmaceutical industry, and research and teaching.
