The “Master of Arts in Religious Studies” is a 4-semester program, conducted in German. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Leipzig. The course is available as a part-time study as well. It aims to deepen the knowledge of students and provide them with practice work. The curriculum consists of multifaceted courses in Religions of East Asia, Europe and North America, Theories of Religion and Science, and Methods of Religious Studies. Throughout their education, students will receive in-depth theoretical and practical training. The MA is research-oriented and provides them with the social, methodological, and analytical skills needed to carry out scientific work independently. Furthermore, the program promotes the development of soft skills such as teamwork, intercultural communication, leadership, organisation and presentations, etc. The MA prepares graduates for work in Teaching and research at institutions that specialize in Christian, Islamic, African studies, Policy Advice, Cultural Management, Public Relations, and more. Graduates can also pursue a later doctoral degree.
