The “Bachelor of Arts in Sociology” is a 6-semester program conducted in German and English. It is also offered as a part-time study, suitable for applicants who wish to further their qualifications without having to pause their professional activities. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses in Analytical Sociology, Rational Choice Theory, Network Analysis, Labor Market Sociology, Educational and family sociology, Sociology of Deviant Behavior, Game Theory, etc. Students can also tailor their education by undertaking elective modules. The BA is application-oriented and aims to provide participants with key competencies, industry-specific skills and practical relevance. It teaches them how to implement their vast theoretical knowledge in practice and assume leadership positions. Occupational opportunities are work in Adult Education, Media and Public Relations, Foundations and NGOs, Business and Policy Advice, and more. They can also pursue a subsequent Master’s degree.
