The “Bachelor of Arts in Sorabistics” is a 6-semester program conducted mainly in German. It is offered as a part-time study as well, suitable for individuals who wish to balance out their careers, education, and private lives. The curriculum consists of multifaceted courses in Linguistics, Literary Studies, History/Cultural history, Ethnology and Minority Research, and Upper or Lower Sorbian Language practice. Furthermore, students can personalise their education by choosing from a plethora of elective modules. The BA is application-oriented and aims to provide participants with practical relevance and professional core competencies. Also, the BA promotes the development of soft skills such as leadership, teamwork, intercultural communication, moderation, etc. The program qualifies graduates for work in scientific, cultural or socio-political institutions, media, publishing, interpreting services, adult education, and more. They can also pursue a consecutive Master’s degree.
