The “Master of Arts in Sorabistics” is a 4-semester program conducted mainly in German and English. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Leipzig. The course is also available as a part-time study. Its aim is to deepen the knowledge of students and introduce them to more complex matters. The curriculum includes interdisciplinary courses in Linguistics, Literary and Cultural Studies, History, Ethnology and Minority Research, and Upper or Lower Sorbian language practice. Additionally, participants can tailor their studies by undertaking elective modules. The MA is research-oriented and provides students with the necessary skills to carry out scientific work independently. Furthermore, through various case studies and seminars, they’ll acquire hands-on experience and key competencies. The MA prepares graduates for work in Language Maintenance and Language Teaching, Translation and Interpreting Services, Scientific, Cultural, or Socio-Political Institutions, Research, etc.
