Description
The state examination program “Teaching Music for Special Education“ is a 10-semester program conducted in German. A four-week social internship in a child, youth, or social institution is mandatory in order to enter the program. Throughout their studies, participants will receive in-depth artistic-practical, music-pedagogical, music-didactic, and musicological training. They’ll focus on singing, practical instruments playing in schools, music theory, and choir conducting. The program is application-oriented and aims to provide students with practical relevance, as well as subject-specific skills. Furthermore, the program promotes personal growth and the development of soft skills needed for day-to-day operations. Upon completion of the program, graduates will develop a holistic approach to complex situations and learn how to delegate. They are qualified to assume teaching positions in Music at special education institutions.
