The state examination program “Veterinary Medicine“ offered at the University of Leipzig is 11 semesters long and taught in German. Throughout their education, students will gain a fundamental understanding of Natural Sciences, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Genetics, Animal Husbandry And Hygiene, Animal Welfare and Ethology, Animal Nutrition, and much more. Additionally, they can carry out elective modules and broaden their perspectives. The program is application-oriented and aims to prepare students for the challenging environment of the profession. Through various group projects and seminars, they’ll acquire key competencies and practical relevance. Upon completion of the program, graduates are qualified to pursue careers in Examination and Treatment of Animals, Animal Care, Food Control, Animal Disease Control, Animal Welfare, Research, and more.
