The three-year degree Bachelor`s program “Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Economy: English and American Studies” offered by the University of Mannheim provides an education, compound of a major and a minor. English and American Studies is the core subject, in which students are taught about English-speaking countries` literature and culture. For example, in the courses in Literary Studies, participants gain knowledge about the foundations of scientific literary analysis. Students also attend Linguistic classes, in which they learn theories and methods of language development. As a minor, students can choose either Business Administration or Economics. Subjects like finance, management and accounting are part of the Business Administration classes. Incorporated in the Economics classes, there are courses in macroeconomics and statistics. Therefore, graduates of the program have both knowledge about economic concepts, as well as deep understanding of the English language and English-speaking cultures. Job fields that students are qualified for are marketing, sales, public relations and etc.
