The course of study “Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Economy: Romance Studies – Italian” offered by the University of Mannheim provides a combination subject program. Italian Studies is the major, in which students learn about the literature, culture and language of Italia. The foundations of scientific literary analysis are addressed in the Literary Studies classes. An emphasize on the cultural history of Italy is put via courses, in which films, music and articles are discussed. Students are also taught Linguistics and receive language instruction. To complete the curriculum, they can attend classes in Business Italian or intercultural communication. As a combination major, students can choose either Business Administration or Economics. Courses in finance, management and accounting are part of the Business Administration classes. As part of the Economic minor, statistics and macro- and microeconomics are studied. Graduate are highly qualified for positions that combine communication and economics. They can work in the areas of Marketing, Public Relations or Sales.
