The six-semester Bachelor`s program “Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Economy: Romance Studies - Spanish`` offered by the University of Mannheim provides an education, compound of a major and a minor subject. Spanish studies are the focal point of the program. Through the courses in Literary Studies, students gain knowledge about scientific literary analysis and implement the theory into analysis of films, music and articles, related to the cultural history of Spanish. They also attend classes in Linguistics and receive language instruction. To complete the curriculum, participants can take up classes in Business Spanish or intercultural communication. As a combination major, students can choose either Business Administration or Economics. Courses in finance, management and accounting are part of the Business Administration classes. As part of the Economic minor, statistics and macro- and microeconomics are studied. Graduate are highly qualified for positions that combine communication and economics. They can work in the areas of Marketing, Public Relations or Sales. Another career path in academic direction in the Linguistics, Cultural Studies and Economics can be also pursued.
