The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Current English Linguistics and Literary Studies” offered by the University of Mannheim put an emphasis of the English language and literature, and educate about the traditions and societies of United Kingdom and the USA. Almost all parts of the program are studied in English, which serves also as a very good language training for the participants. Student have two options for specialization: Literary Studies or Linguistics. For the benefit of the participants, they have the opportunity to take part in courses at other schools, which focus more on their subject of interest. Through the module Career Perspectives, students learn a lot about possible future careers. Skills which are very useful for the practice, such as creating a website or making a podcast are also incorporated. Graduates work in the fields of Public Relations, Advertising and Social Media.
