The English-taught program “Master of Science in Data Science`` offered by the University of Mannheim provides an interdisciplinary program which is one of a kind in Germany. Students attend courses in the area of Business Informatics, Sociology, Political Science, and Mathematics, all of them related to Big Data. Students learn how to use the right tools and methods to compile, organize, interpret and visualize vast quantities of data. The course of study is structured within five major sectors: Fundamentals, Data management, Data analytics methods, Responsible data science, Projects and seminars, and Master's thesis. The program is practice- oriented and cooperates with companies like SAP, ABB or Heidelberg Cement. As a result, students have the option of writing their Master`s thesis either as a part of a research project or while doing an internship at a company. Graduates can build a career in marketing, production, logistics, and etc.
